In this original animated series based on the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise, Aang, Katara, Zuko, Toph, and the whole gang are reimagined as pint-sized powerhouses with big personalities and even bigger elemental moves! Whether it’s mastering mini-water whips or unleashing tiny fireballs, these chibi benders are here to prove that size doesn’t matter when it comes to saving the world. I created this series alongside Avatar Studios and Avatar co-creator Michael DiMartino beginning in late 2024 when Nickelodeon wanted to begin building bonds with younger audiences. We went with a non-verbal approach to the series so that we could connect with audiences around the globe. Cartuna led the hand-drawn-heavy animation. Episodes continue to be written and produced using the visual language and direction set when I first developed the series.
